album review George Tomsco of the Fireballs, Harlee Guitar
CD review George Tomsco of the Fireballs, Harlee Guitar

remain opposed time waits for no one cd reviewband, album: George Tomsco of the Fireballs, Harlee Guitar
label: Deep Eddy
for fans of: real surf, The Eliminators, The Ventures

cd review: Surf guitar, in my opinion, is the most all around enjoyable style of music out there. It doesn't matter if you're playing or listening, the tremolo and reverb coupled with those cool D to G string jumps are simultaneously relaxing and exhilarating. But some bands and performers are better suited for seasoned fans. George Tomsco's work on Harlee Guitar is just such an example. Don't expect your 12 year old nephew to get hooked on this one. For that you'll want The Neptones Planet Of Surf. Fans of subtlety will probably embrace this album wholeheartedly - especially with tracks like Sweet Talk and Indian Nation. But those in search of generic cruise music might be let down. That's not to say Mexican Fun isn't a top-down blazer, it just takes some time to get moving.
