cd review: A few years ago I was at a Dark Romantics / Look Mexico show in Tallahassee. The venue was a tiny hole-in-the-wall that, on a good day, might hold 200 skinny people. However, on this particular night, it was dead: just me, a few friends, and a few strangers. Funny thing, the much larger venue next door had "Tonight The Gin Blossoms" on the marquee. My boyfriend made a comment, "who'd want to see those wash-ups." To our surprise, a few hours later, the line was around the block. I guess there's still a demand for 90's college radio rock - who'd have thought. For anyone at that Gin Blossoms show I give you Failures' Union. Maybe it's not exactly the same thing, but you get the idea.
